Paulette Anniversary

Employee Spotlight 10 Years With Ms. Gibbs

Today, we proudly celebrate Paulette Gibbs’ 10-year anniversary with City of Faith. Over the past decade, Paulette has become a steady and trusted presence as a Security Officer, deeply committed to the mission of second chances and successful reentry.
What motivates Paulette most in her role is her belief in second chances and the opportunity to witness residents rebuild their lives and safely reintegrate into the community. She finds the most reward in seeing individuals take responsibility for their past, restore relationships, and stay committed to sobriety and program success—even through challenges.
Paulette has grown tremendously during her time with City of Faith, transitioning into corrections work without prior experience and mastering the many responsibilities of the role. From supervising UAs and conducting searches to writing incident reports and ensuring facility safety, she recognizes the importance of her work in preserving structure, protecting safety, and supporting true rehabilitation.
She views the role of a security professional as a vital bridge between accountability and rehabilitation—helping create the safe, structured environment residents need to succeed. One of the most important lessons she continues to carry is the value of being firm but fair, and the importance of consistency in maintaining a well-functioning facility.
Paulette came to City of Faith in June 2016 with a plan to stay for one year before returning to school. Ten years later, she reflects on her journey with pride, having served both at the State Facility and now at the Federal Facility, with no regrets about the path she chose.
Outside of work, Paulette enjoys quiet time at home—often unwinding on the sofa with the phone and TV turned off. She enjoys reading inspiring books focused on personal growth, watching action and suspense films, and following renovation shows. Her favorite office snacks include fruit cups and seafood.
If she could have any superpower, she would choose teleportation—allowing her to visit family, take vacations, and return to work without exhaustion.
Paulette’s advice for new team members:
Be patient with yourself as you learn your duties, the mission, and the core values. Learn from mistakes, challenge yourself with difficult tasks, and always strive to be firm but fair.
We are grateful for Paulette’s 10 years of dedication, integrity, and service, and the lasting impact she continues to make at City of Faith.
