05 Apr Help Us Celebrate Charles Carter for 20 Years at City of Faith
Today, we are proud to celebrate Charles Carter and his 20th anniversary with City of Faith! For two decades, Charles has been dedicated to helping residents succeed and make their way back home to their families and communities.
What Charles enjoys most about his role is helping residents accomplish their goal of getting home. Seeing individuals successfully complete the program and do well after leaving is what keeps him motivated every day. His passion for making a difference in residents’ lives is at the heart of everything he does.
Charles first came to City of Faith thanks to Ricky Banks (former Deputy Executive Director), who also served as an important mentor and supporter during his career here. Over the years, Charles has become known among his coworkers for being persistent, as well as firm but fair in his approach to working with residents.
One of his favorite memories at City of Faith was rewarding an entire house of residents with a fish fry after they did a great job—a moment that reflects his commitment to recognizing progress and encouraging success.
Outside of work, Charles stays busy refereeing basketball and football games and spending time fishing. And if you didn’t know already, he says there are no hidden talents—everyone knows he’s a great cook!
When asked about his guiding principle, Charles shared a simple but powerful motto:
“Do unto others as you want them to do unto you.”
For anyone starting in a similar role, Charles offers this advice:
“Keep your head on a swivel and pay attention to everything that goes on around you.”
Charles, thank you for 20 years of dedication, persistence, and service to the mission of City of Faith. Your impact on residents, coworkers, and the organization is truly appreciated. 👏
💙 Congratulations on this milestone, Charles!
