Employee Highlight: Eric McZeal

We’re excited to highlight Eric McZeal and the positive impact he makes every day at City of Faith. Eric brings dedication, compassion, and a strong commitment to helping others succeed.

What Eric enjoys most about his work is seeing residents complete the program and witnessing their growth as they become better versions of themselves. Being part of that journey and celebrating their accomplishments is what makes the work meaningful to him.
Eric also takes great pride in an important personal milestone—being ordained as a deacon at Donaldson Chapel Baptist Church. This achievement reflects his commitment to faith, service, leadership, and supporting his community.

At City of Faith, Eric makes a difference by showing up with a positive attitude and a willingness to serve wherever he’s needed. His dependability, teamwork, and integrity help create an environment where both staff and residents feel supported and valued. Eric joined City of Faith through a family friend connection, which led him to a place where he could grow professionally while building meaningful relationships.

When asked what inspires him most, Eric points to his wife and family, who motivate him to work hard and continue striving to do his best each day.

One of the most valuable lessons Eric has learned during his time here is the difference between sympathy and empathy. He believes that truly listening and understanding others allows him to support residents and coworkers in a more meaningful and compassionate way.
Here’s a fun fact about Eric that surprises many people: he can do a backflip!

Looking ahead, Eric has set an exciting personal goal for the next year—running a marathon, a challenge that reflects his discipline, perseverance, and determination.

For anyone just starting at City of Faith, Eric shares this advice:
“Be compassionate and an accountable team player. Support others, communicate openly, and follow through on your responsibilities.”

Thank you, Eric, for your positive attitude, compassion, and dedication to the mission of City of Faith. We appreciate the difference you make every day!
