Employee Spotlight: 20 Years With Elijah

Employee Spotlight: 20 Years With Elijah

Elijah McCoy, Monroe Security Operations Manager, is celebrating a major milestone this year—his 20th anniversary with City of Faith. Over two decades of service, he has remained deeply committed to helping staff support residents as they prepare to return to their families and rebuild their lives.
For Elijah, the most rewarding part of the job is seeing that work come full circle when former residents recognize him in the community, thank him for listening, and express appreciation for the support they received during their time at City of Faith. Those moments continue to reinforce the purpose behind his 20 years of service.
He consistently strives to make a difference for his team by offering encouragement, providing that extra push when needed, and ensuring everyone works together as a unified group. Elijah came to City of Faith at a time when he needed a job, but quickly realized it was also a calling—one that has guided him ever since.
He is inspired daily by residents who are genuinely working to change their lives for the better. One of the most important lessons he has learned during his time here is that everyone makes mistakes—and everyone deserves another chance.
Outside of work, Elijah enjoys cooking and is known for his sense of humor and love of playing jokes on others. His favorite book is the Bible, and his favorite movie is Armageddon. If he could have any superpower, it would be the ability to make people happy and laugh. He also enjoys king crab and lobster as his favorite office snacks.
💭 Elijah’s advice for new team members:
City of Faith is more than a job—it’s helping to better someone’s life.
After 20 years with the organization, he remains committed to ensuring that both new and seasoned employees don’t just learn the core values, but truly live them every day.
