Employee Spotlight: Scottie Marcelin

Employee Spotlight: Scottie Marcelin

Scottie Marcelin serves as the Home Confinement Coordinator in Baton Rouge, where he finds the most fulfillment in engaging with the community and building connections that help create new employment opportunities for residents. His work centers on networking with local employers and ensuring residents have pathways to success as they reenter society.
One of Scottie’s proudest accomplishments is leading a community outreach initiative that included a successful toy give-back event held over multiple years. The event not only brought joy to families and children but also strengthened teamwork and unity within the office.
In his role, Scottie represents City of Faith in the community, gathering valuable information, building relationships, and serving as a key connector between the organization and the public. He came to City of Faith through networking and accepted the opportunity as a chance to help strengthen and grow the Baton Rouge office.
Scottie is inspired simply by his passion for his work, and he emphasizes that communication and ethics are essential lessons he has learned during his time with the organization.
Outside of work, Scottie is a big movie enthusiast and can often be found at the theater whenever a new film is playing. He is also an avid fisherman who enjoys relaxing with smooth jazz and occasionally grilling. His favorite TV shows include Chicago P.D., Boston Blue, and Food Paradise. His go-to snack at the office is popcorn.
Scottie’s advice for new team members:
Stay the course. There will be obstacles along the way but always stay the course.
He is committed to continuous improvement and to representing City of Faith with professionalism, integrity, and community focus.
