Sam Williams came to City of Faith after a long and satisfying career in law enforcement. After a 24-year tenure, Sam retired as a Captain for the Little Rock Police Department and immediately became Police Chief for the Maumelle Police Department where he spent the next 20 years.
Sam’s law enforcement achievements include spending one year in Iraq training police officers in Baghdad and Basrah. Additionally he is a certified instructor for the South West Law Enforcement Institute, the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy.
He is a proud graduate of Central High School as well the Advanced Drug Enforcement Academy Commander’s School, Little Rock Leadership Group, the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy and the Secret Service Dignitary Protection Academy. During his tenure on the Little Rock Police Department, Sam earned the Officer of the Year award, and Secret Service Honor Award. While in Maumelle, he earned the 2020 Person of the Year award.
He has four daughters, three grandchildren and states, “unquestionably my biggest accomplishment is being married to Executive Director Terry Williams plus I have had one hole in one and once shot 74.” We are extremely grateful Sam came out of retirement to show us the way.
